Hemlock Hall

WELCOME TO HEMLOCK HALL

Hemlock Hall Resort is located on the beautiful shore of Blue Mountain Lake nestled into the Adirondack forest. The Hamlet of Blue Mountain Lake is in the central Adirondacks Mountain region. Our season runs from early June to Columbus Day Weekend.

Hemlock Hall's main lodge was built in 1898 as a private camp for Mickel and Clara Paul and was originally named Nawadaha, after an Ojibwe native. Wesley and Eleanor Webb purchased the lodge in 1948 as a vacation resort and renamed it Hemlock Hall. Throughout their many years at Hemlock Hall, they did extensive remodeling, building the motel units and many of the cabins. The resort now includes eight lodge rooms, four motel rooms, and ten cottages.

L. Robert and Jacqueline Webb took over the resort in 1968, carrying on the established traditions for eighteen years.

Your current host, Paul Provost spent his childhood vacationing at Hemlock Hall with his family, and when the opportunity came to him in 1986, he and his late wife, Susan, purchased the resort. Paul’s son, Anthony now helps manage the resort. Keeping with tradition, the Provost’s continue to serve fresh bread every evening, hearty family-style meals, warm cookies on Wednesdays, and the home away from home vacation that is synonymous with Hemlock Hall.

Homemade, family-style breakfast and dinner are included in your stay, with a bagged lunch available for a nominal fee. Enjoy our famous breakfast of eggs, pancakes, bacon, hot and cold cereals, and toast on our homemade breads. Dinner is a set menu, beginning with a salad and fresh bread and butter, followed by a traditional meal such as turkey dinner with mashed potatoes, peas, and chocolate cake or baked haddock and ham accompanied with scalloped potatoes and green beans, finished with strawberry shortcake (view our menu for more information). Food allergies and dietary restrictions are accommodated, just let us know upon booking.

During the day, you’re invited to take one of the many canoes, kayaks, paddle boats, and row boats out on the lake. Enjoy the sandy beach, where generations of families have built sand castles and learned to swim and jump off the raft. Bring a good book and enjoy the sunshine on a chaise lounge on the sandy beach or an Adirondack chair on the dock. There’s plenty of hiking and fishing in and around Blue Mountain Lake, as well as the Adirondack Lakes Center for the Arts and the Adirondack Experience.
