The Hemlock House

Hemlock Hall’s only year-round, off-property rental.
We invite you to experience Blue Mountain Lake in every season, while enjoying the comforts and space of your own home. As a property of Hemlock Hall, guests of the Hemlock House are given access to Hemlock Hall grounds which includes a sandy beach on 500 feet of private waterfront and the use of our kayaks, canoes and stand-up paddle boards. We also invite guest of the Hemlock House to join us for breakfast or dinner and experience a traditional, Hemlock Hall meal. If you prefer to cook, or you are visiting in the winter months, the Hemlock House is equipped with a full kitchen. We can also make recommendations for nearby restaurants, such as our neighbor Chef Darrell’s Mountain Diner.

The Space

The Hemlock House is the perfect basecamp for all your Adirondack adventures with the comforts of home and ample space for your gear. It is located on Rt. 30 in the Hamlet of Blue Mountain Lake (address will be given upon booking). While it is not directly on Blue Mountain Lake, in the warmer months guests have access to a private beach at Hemlock Hall and the public town beach.

Guests have use of the entire home which has 5 bedrooms, two bathrooms, a full kitchen, dining room, living room with a 50″ TV, large washer and dryer, a private workspace with WIFI and an enclosed front porch and spacious backyard. The home sleeps up to 8 comfortably, with an additional $20 per person per night after 8. There is a carport to safely store snowmobiles or bikes, a gas grill, firepit. picnic table and room to play.

  • Downstairs has a living room, dining room, full kitchen, laundry room in downstairs bathroom, mudroom with workspace and enclosed front porch.  The second bathroom, with a shower tub, is upstairs.

What to Expect

Guests at the Hemlock House are independent from Hemlock Hall, even in season. We do not provide daily housekeeping. Bed and bath linens and kitchen and dining ware are provided, but please bring bath and laundry soap and other comforts from home as needed. We also get you started with a small supply of garbage bags, paper towels and toilet paper and dish soap. We ask guests at the Hemlock House to treat it as their home and to clean up after themselves, leaving the house as you found it (a check-out list will be provided).

Cleaning Fee – A $65 cleaning fee will be added to your bill and if the home is left in poor condition an additional $100 cleaning fee will be charged. 4

Two-night minimum – We require a two-night minimum and in the summer months we ask that you avoid checking out on Saturdays as it is our turnover day at Hemlock Hall, and we are very busy.

Quiet Hours – Quiet hours are between 9 pm and 7 am. Parties are not allowed. We are a close-knit community and hold our neighbors and local businesses in high regard.

Pet Policy – One dog is permitted for an additional nightly rate of $40, no other animals will be considered. We require one dog in the home at a time and for the dog to be created if you will be leaving them in the home alone. Dogs should also be leashed at all times, and it goes without saying carry in, carry out

Rates – The nightly rate at the Hemlock House is for lodging only and is for up to 8 guests. Each additional person is $20 per person per night. Up to date rates can be found on our availability calendar here. All Hemlock House reservations must be made online. Rates do not include any meals at Hemlock Hall, however we hope you will join us for breakfast and/or dinner while we are in season. Reservations are required and can be made by calling our office at 518-352-7706. Meals are served daily from June 7- October 14, 2024.
